In Europe, our energy consumption reflects the way we have designed and constructed buildings up to now – they account for no less than 40% of all energy demands.
Energy consumption and indoor climate can be improved in new building and renovation projects of the future. The needs of the climate, economy and public health can all be met by combining technologies and knowledge of climate effects with the use of energy-friendly components and sustainable energy.
The VELUX Group believes that all initiatives to cut energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions should have quality of life designed in from the concept phase of a building.
We work with the concept of Sustainable Living, where energy efficiency, healthy indoor climate and renewable energy go hand in hand. We work with these parameters in our product design – for instance through our solar panels, designed to have high performance, the best integration in the roof and an attractive look that will stand the test of time; and through our VELUX active window, providing automatic ventilation and screening to create the best indoor climate and minimise energy consumption.
Being sponsor of Nordic Climate Solutions 2009 gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our know how. Nordic Climate Solutions is the largest greentech conference and exhibition in Northern Europe and will take place in Copenhagen on 8-9 September 2009. The Nordic Climate Solutions will gather more that 1000 stakeholders, all engaged in climate-friendly solutions within energy, transport and building activity.
During the Nordic Climate Solutions, VELUX A/S will be presenting renovation projects that cut energy consumption and create a better indoor climate. The projects were completed in partnership with the Municipality of Copenhagen and others, and represent a showcase of just how far you can get with existing technology if it is applied creatively.
