The VELUX factories consume comparatively small amounts of energy in the form of oil and natural gas in the actual manufacturing process.
From oil to natural gas
Many of the factories have switched from oil to natural gas which, in itself, reduces CO2 emissions.
In 2007, 85 per cent of the energy consumed in heating and wood drying came from natural gas. In 2000 that share was 68 per cent.
