Sustainable products and production
Our Energy and Climate Strategy 2020 outlines our vision towards a more sustainable society. Our strategy has five focus areas: Leading change on healthy and sustainable buildings, energy and climate, people first, towards zero waste and responsible sourcing.
Creating communities fit for the future is key to a healthy and good life for the billions of people who inhabit our cities. We want to lead the development of better living environments and we do this by engaging in relevant partnerships that help us reach our common goals.
We continuously seek to minimise our carbon footprint – from sourcing of raw materials to manufacturing, usage and end-of-life. This includes developing smart and energy saving products as well as keeping a close eye on the way we run our manufacturing facilities.
The VELUX Group supports the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Through our products and solutions, we strive for ‘good health and well-being’ (SDG 3) in buildings to create ‘sustainable cities and communities’ (SDG 11), and we do this via ‘partnerships for the goals’ (SDG 17). This film explains why and how.
Our sustainability report contains comprehensive information about how we seek to reduce our negative social and environmental impact.
We aim to reduce the carbon footprint from our production by 50% in 2020.
We wish to lead the change towards healthy and sustainable buildings with care for people and the environment.
