After celebrating our 80th anniversary, we welcomed several new shifts in the company. We developed a new generation of glass rooflights, Lars Petersson joined us as CEO, and we launched our revised VELUX Values.
Celebrating a great idea
A passion for daylight, fresh air and better living environments. That is what started our company more than 80 years ago and it is still what drives us forward today. In 2021, the VELUX Group could celebrate 80 years of bringing daylight and fresh air to its customers.
A new generation of glass rooflights
In spring 2021, the VELUX Group raised the bar for flat roof windows with the launch of the new generation of glass rooflights. With its minimalistic design, the new glass rooflight delivers on functionality with a special glass-to-edge design that lets in up to 52 per cent more daylight than the previous generation.
New CEO in 2022
Lars Petersson took over as the new CEO of the VELUX Group on November 1st 2022 after the retirement of former CEO David Briggs. Prior to joining the VELUX Group, Lars was the CEO of Hempel A/S. He has also held several top management positions in global building materials manufacturing companies such as Inwido and Tarkett. In addition to his leadership experience, Lars has an MSC in industrial engineering and management from Chalmers University of Technology, plus an MSC in mechanics from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and he has also studied sales and marketing at the University of Lausanne.
Revised VELUX Values
Our VELUX Values were originally created in 1997. Therefore, by 2022 the time was right to update them to better reflect changes within the VELUX Group and the current world we live in. Our revised VELUX Values are: Commitment, Customer Centricity, Courage, Mutual Respect, Social Responsibility and Agility. These six values guide our everyday work and are our compass for decision-making in both good and challenging times. They represent ‘the how’ behind our Model Company Objective, Purpose and Strategy.
